Producer/Director/Researcher, Fast Cars II, experimental film footage
(Super 16mm and 35mm Panavision) for CCD and flying spot telecine transfer to High
Definition Television (HDTV). This work continued that begun with the Fast Cars
I project. The research was designed to determine the suitability of film originated
images (especially Super 16mm) for distribution in some form of High Definition
Television. It was also intended to inform the several Federal Communications Commission
committees involved in designing tests to assess the audience impact of high definition
images (Baylor University was represented on these committees). Corporations helping to
fund this research included: Aaton Cameras, Allied Film Laboratories, Bell Communication
Research (BELLCORE), DuArt Film Laboratories, Eastman Kodak, and Panavision, 1989-90.

Haiti Mission, co-produced with Evangelische Omroep (a Dutch Television Network), Angel
Award, Excellence in Media, Gold Award, Houston International Film Festival, Gold Award,

DEVELOPMENTAL RESEARCH:
Concentrates on the gap
between a technology's public unveiling and that technology's practical and effective
application. The emphasis is on innovation, diffusion, and management. Many of these
investigations have been conducted with the cooperation and support of one or more industry
partners.
Research currently underway includes:
